Quincy Children’s Museum Named 2027 Bridge the Gap to Health Race Partner

QUINCY, Ill. Quincy Medical Group Foundation has selected Quincy Children’s Museum as the 2027 Bridge the Gap to Health Race partner, with proceeds from the event helping fund two new hands-on exhibits at the museum’s permanent home.

The 27th annual Bridge the Gap to Health Race is scheduled for Saturday, May 8, 2027. For the third year, the event will support a local organization through the Bridge the Gap Grant, which helps fund capital projects tied to health initiatives, youth programs and community development.

The 2027 grant will help develop and install a Medical Education and Discovery Science exhibit, known as MEDS, along with a First Responders exhibit. Both are designed to give children opportunities to explore health care, medicine, science and emergency services through imaginative play while introducing them to careers that serve the community.

The partnership builds on several years of support from the QMG Foundation, which has helped fund the museum’s Museums for All initiative. That program provides half-priced admission and memberships to qualifying families and helps subsidize field trip costs.

A portion of the money raised during the 2027 race will also continue supporting the QMG Foundation’s efforts to provide financial assistance to patients facing health events and grants to local nonprofits and schools.
