Indian Mounds Pool Attendance Remains Steady as Quincy Families Keep Swimming
Five years of attendance figures provided to Quincy Current show consistent summer use at one of the cityβs longtime public pools.
QUINCY, Ill. As another summer has come to a close, attendance at Indian Mounds Pool continues to show something Quincy families have demonstrated year after year: The cityβs public pool remains a popular warm-weather destination.
Quincy Current recently checked in with the Quincy Park District to see how attendance at the pool compared with recent summers. The district provided five years of attendance figures showing remarkably consistent use.
Indian Mounds Pool recorded 11,240 visitors in 2026, compared with 11,667 in 2025, 12,240 in 2024, 10,954 in 2023 and 11,728 in 2022.
Over the past five seasons, annual attendance has remained within a relatively narrow range of about 11,000 to 12,000 visitors.
That consistency is notable for an outdoor recreational facility where attendance can be influenced by weather, school schedules, vacations and other summer activities.
The five-year average comes to approximately 11,566 visits per season, putting 2026 attendance close to the recent historical norm.
While attendance dipped slightly from 2025, the difference amounted to fewer than 500 visits across the entire season. The 2026 total was also higher than the attendance recorded in 2023.
A Consistent Summer Tradition
Indian Mounds Pool has long been part of summer in Quincy, giving families a local option for swimming, recreation and relief from hot Midwestern afternoons.
The latest numbers suggest that has not changed.
Rather than showing major swings from year to year, the attendance figures indicate a dependable level of community use. Even as families have more recreational options available to them, thousands continue making their way to Indian Mounds each summer.
The strongest attendance during the five-year period came in 2024, when the pool welcomed 12,240 visitors. Even the lowest year, 2023, still drew nearly 11,000 people.
That means fewer than 1,300 visits separate the highest and lowest attendance totals during the entire five-year period.

For families, it means Indian Mounds Pool remains what it has been for generations: a familiar place to cool off, spend time together and enjoy summer in Quincy.
As the 2026 season is now int he books, the numbers show that tradition remains strong.
