Former Boyfriend of Destinie Daniels Contacts Quincy Police, Cooperating With Death Investigation

QUINCY, Ill. The Quincy Police Department said Wednesday that the former boyfriend of Destinie Daniels has voluntarily contacted investigators and is cooperating as police continue their investigation into her death.

According to a Sept. 30 statement from QPD, Collin Blanchett contacted the department on his own and has since been interviewed by detectives. Police said Blanchett is cooperating fully with the investigation and that he and his attorney remain in ongoing contact with detectives.

The department’s statement does not accuse Blanchett of any wrongdoing.

Police continue to investigate Daniels’ death, which occurred at 200 N. Eighth St. in downtown Quincy. The investigation is being conducted in coordination with the Adams County State’s Attorney’s Office and Adams County Coroner’s Office.

Authorities said final determinations in the case remain pending while investigators await official autopsy results. Police cautioned that those results may take several weeks to complete.
The investigation remains open and active.

Anyone with additional information related to Daniels’ death is encouraged to contact the Quincy Police Department or Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers.
