Damage Reported on Greens at Westview Golf Course in Quincy
Tire-like tracks were found across the No. 2 and No. 4 greens, leaving visible damage to the putting surfaces.
QUINCY, Ill. Damage was reported this week at Westview Golf Course in Quincy after long tracks, apparently caused by bicycle or e-bike tires, were discovered across portions of two putting greens.
The damage was reported on the No. 2 and No. 4 greens, where tire-like marks cut across the playing surface and left visible trails through the turf. 
At this time, Quincy Current has not independently confirmed what type of bicycle or vehicle caused the damage or who was responsible. The marks appear consistent with narrow tires traveling across the greens, but that determination has not been made available by law enforcement or course officials.
For golfers, damage to a putting green can be particularly frustrating because the surface is carefully maintained to remain smooth and consistent. Even relatively narrow tire tracks can affect play and require additional maintenance before the turf fully recovers.
