BREAKING: Heavy Law Enforcement Presence Near 6th and Cedar in Quincy
QUINCY, Ill. A significant law enforcement presence is currently gathered near 7th and Cedar streets in Quincy and have surrounded a house in the 600 block of Cedar, where officers have blocked access to a nearby street and surrounded a residence.
Officers from the Quincy Police Department, Adams County Sheriff’s Office and Illinois State Police are at the scene.
Authorities can be heard using loudspeakers to issue commands toward the residence to one or more people believed to be inside.
Very little official information is available at this time, including what prompted the response, whether anyone inside the residence is wanted by authorities, or whether any arrests have been made.
Because the situation remains active, residents are encouraged to avoid the immediate area and allow law enforcement personnel room to work.
